We are pleased to announce that Hilton’s Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii has implemented BirchStreet’s enhanced Inventory Control Application and our Enterprise Recipe Management Suite, replacing their legacy system (Adaco). The property also uses BirchStreet’s fully integrated e-Procurement Application to streamline purchasing, as well as our Declining Checkbook feature to track actuals against forecasts in real time.
The award-winning 62-acre resort uses BirchStreet’s Inventory solution for all of the property’s 21 inventory locations, including two main storerooms, 16 outlet storerooms and three finished goods storerooms. BirchStreet’s Inventory Control Application can track perpetual inventory at an unlimited number of inventory locations and is fully integrated with BirchStreet’s e-Procurement Application.
Additionally, the Hilton Waikoloa uses iPads for their month-end take inventory process. Physical inventory counts entered into the iPads are uploaded straight into BirchStreet for month-end variance analysis in preparation to close each accounting period.
The Waikoloa property also uses BirchStreet’s Recipe solution. The system automates their food & beverage operations and allows them to keep on top of food cost to maintain food & beverage profitability. The Recipe system if tightly integrated with BirchStreet e-Procurement allows recipes to be linked to supplier catalogs for costing. The solution also enables chefs to create and publish recipes, as well as search and view published corporate or property-level recipes. Chefs can link their recipes to the BirchStreet ingredient library to get instant nutritional data and allergen facts about their recipes. The system also supports attached pictures and video for training and sales, as well as a powerful scaling feature that automatically computes ingredient quantities needed, and their related costs, for large banquets. The intelligent “What if” tool allows Chefs to explore the options and see the cost impact of hypothetical changes instantly.
Chefs at the Hilton Waikoloa also use the BirchStreet Recipe Pad application to find, view and scale recipes. The mobile, lightweight solution is graphically rich and allows users to search and browse the property’s recipe collection along with updated cost and nutritional data. Recipe Pad is optimized for the Apple iPad and other mobile tablets.
