We are pleased to announce that Hilton Worldwide has chosen the BirchStreet cloud-based Enterprise Recipe Management Suite to power recipe and food cost management at US company-operated properties. The agreement was signed late last year and the implementation is well underway with 105 properties live and over 11,000 Hilton recipes loaded into the system to date.
Fully integrated into the BirchStreet procure-to-pay application suite, BirchStreet’s Enterprise Recipe Management Suite allows organizations to maintain a centralized library of corporate recipes and publish recipes to properties with ease. Property-level users can create their own recipes, search and view published corporate recipes, access nutritional data and allergen information, load and view pictures and video of recipes, cost their recipes, scale their recipes for banquets, change recipe parameters with the intelligent “What if” tool and convert recipes from US to metric units with a single mouse click.
When used with BirchStreet’s cloud-based e-Procurement application, cost data captured from catalogs and purchasing transactions can be linked to recipes and ingredients to cost recipes and compute menu prices based on target food cost percentages. The recipe costs are automatically updated, through the procurement activities, thus addressing a major “pain point” of traditional recipe systems.
Hilton Chefs will also have access to BirchStreet’s Recipe Pad, the first enterprise level recipe management solution optimized specifically for the Apple iPad and other touchpads. Recipe Pad is an easy to use, visual tool that helps food & beverage operators reduce training costs and drive production and service consistency. Because of its portability, Recipe Pad is also great for responding to guest inquires about ingredients, nutritional or allergen concerns. From Recipe Pad you can also print the recipe for guests who simply want a copy to take home.
Today more than 700 Hilton properties worldwide use BirchStreet’s e-Procurement application. Hilton has been a BirchStreet customer since 2002.
