Earlier this year we launched our “Going Mobile” initiative to inject mobile app capabilities into all of our applications.  The first mobile app to become available is Mobile Approvals.  This allows you to approve Purchase Orders and other documents routed through our workflow engine on your iPhone, iPad, Droid or Blackberry Torch device.  We’re also developing some exciting mobile applications for the Apple iPad.  

Here’s a shot of Chuck Chekuri, our Director of IT as he returned from a trip to the local Apple Store to kick off our Going Mobile Initiative.  He came back with some Apple goodies: several iPads and Apple workstations for our product development team.

The iPad is a fantastic platform to extend our application into the Mobile realm.  We are working on an iPad Recipe App that ties into our Recipe Management System, and we have some ideas for using the iPad for receiving and inventory.  We’d love to hear your ideas for mobile extensions to the BirchStreet applications.
